Flattery doesn’t feel like flattery

It feels like the person is reinforcing and confirming something you believe in deep inside, something very right you would never boast about but secretly credit yourself with nevertheless. It can be disguised as gratitude or feedback or praise to a third person on something you share in common. But it still is just flattery. Don’t let it cloud your thinking.
